300 Year-Old House Renovation in Tel Aviv, Israel

This 300-plus year-old house is located in the ancient port city of Jaffa, the oldest part of the Tel Aviv-Jaffa municipality in Israel.The gorgeous renovation is by the Tel Aviv-based Pitsou Kedem Architects, already well known for their minimalist approach to architecture and design.The single owner of the house asked the designers to maximize the sea view while keeping the historical feel of the building intact. The project team – Pitsou Kedem, Irene Goldberg and Raz Melamed – has achieved this beautifully.The residence consists of a 100 square meter (1,076 sq.ft) living area (living, dining and kitchen) plus an additional 80 square meters (861 sq.ft) that includes the master bed room, a study and a guest room. Cai Guo-Qiang was born in 1957 in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, China.”Trained in stage design at the Shanghai Theater Academy, his work has since crossed multiple mediums within art, including drawing, installation, video and performance art. Krzosek Bakery is a family company established few generations ago in 1959.The commission was to create a coherent interior designs for a whole chain of their shops. Individual look of each interior is achieved by use of a stained birch plywood 450x70x20mm module, that can be used to create almost infinite parametric design variations, while the rest of the interior components remain the same. Depending on the interior the modules can form a built-in display rack or a sculptural suspended ceiling that folds over the wall morphing into display shelves.
